The One Man Dallas competition has officially been launched!

We have until May 8th to win!

Edgar “Shoboy” Sotelo is in the running for One Man Dallas this year. He faces tough competition; however, we are confident that our community will come through for him. One Man Dallas is a fun, social, and professional event that identifies the one man in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex area who represents the best of Dallas from the perspectives of community involvement, personality, intelligence, and fitness. This year, One Man Dallas not only puts the spotlight on 21 guys doing great work in the community, but also highlights volunteer opportunities in the community. Each of the 21 men has created a volunteer opportunity that benefits his affiliated charity and you are invited to participate.

We all know Edgar as the famous radio talk show host and DJ for “Shoboy En La Mañana at MEGA 107.5.” What we might not know is how heavily he is involved in the community. Edgar is all about empowering others.

When asked what he envisioned in a perfect word, he replied:

IN A PERFECT WORLD, WE WOULD ALL SEEK TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY WITH THE GIFTS AND TALENTS THAT GOD HAS GIVEN EACH ONE OF US IN ORDER TO EMPOWER OUR COMMUNITY TO REACH IT’S FULL POTENTIAL; SPIRITUALLY, PROFESSIONALLY AND PERSONALLY; AS WELL AS EVERYDAY WOULD END WITH A CARNE ASADA PARTY!

Let’s make sure Edgar wins this one. Not only does he deserve it, been when he does win, the Magdaleno Leadership Institute will receive $2,500.

Here is a quick list of actions to do:

2. Sign up to volunteer for Edgar’s volunteer event. Proceeds will go towards the MEGA Beca de Shoboy, benefiting first-generation college students. sign up as many people as you can! You can also access the registration link directly, HERE.
3. VOTE for Edgar on the bottom left corner of this profile page.
4. Share this information with your family and friends.
5. VOTE for Edgar each day until May 8th.

Be sure to make plans to attend the free happy hours on April 19, 25, and May 3. The final show is on Thursday, May 10 from 6 – 8 pm at the Aloft Downtown Dallas Hotel. They will be narrowing the candidates from 20 to the ultimate One Man Dallas: it’s a fun way to celebrate the men and their charities. Tickets are $25 to the final show, but you are admitted free if you register for one of the men’s volunteer activities.
