Luis Veloz is a Woodrow Wilson High School alumnus and will be part of the Southern Methodist University graduating class of 2016, with a double major in Philosophy and Communication Studies. He has served on several boards throughout the Dallas community, most prominently his appointment towards the Executive Board of the Greater Dallas Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network. In 2012 he was chosen as one of five Bank of America Student Leaders, where he earned the opportunity to intern with a local non-profit and travel to Washington D.C. to speak to members of the United States Congress and Senate. Luis will participate in Teach for America after graduation and then go on to Columbia Law School. Luis strongly believes that “when the power of love, overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
